Barbara’s home was flooded in 2018. Because the contractor she hired to make repairs did not pull a building permit, she was left with a bigger mess and fewer resources to make things right. Meanwhile, mold was growing throughout her home, making conditions unsafe.
The steep cost of remediation and repair was not covered by Barbara’s insurance or by her salary at a local community organization. After nearly a year, she still had no clear path forward.
That’s where we came in.
After weeks of work, we got her home ready so that volunteers from the Chatham County Council on Aging and area churches could begin installing trim and paint.
Finishing touches are happening now, and Barbara’s home transformation should be complete by early spring!
