A sense of community and camaraderie

When it comes to assisting local veterans, our friends at Mako Medical have become trusted partners. Last summer, they sponsored and volunteered to assist Cary Air Force veteran Jim and his lovely wife Theresa. The Mako team made dramatic improvements in home accessibility for the couple by removing carpet and installing vinyl plank. They also rebuilt some exterior decking. Check out their video of the whole transformation!

This year, the Mako team returned to help Ms. Ray, an Army veteran in her 60s who was struggling to maintain her home in Wendell. She now has new, energy-efficient windows, new exterior handrails to help her come and go more safely, a new roof, and also HVAC.

“When you’re in the military, you just have this sense of community and camaraderie,” said Adam Price, a Mako director who is also a veteran. “It’s really cool to help a fellow vet out.” Here’s a link to another great video showing their hard work!
